A Review of February 2024

February 2024;

February has been an interesting month, a few important updates that are important to all customers. Firstly a new employee for Packit&Go, and also changes across the board in pricing. Both of which will be explored later. But in general we've all recovered from the Christmas holidays and are maximising efficiency while focusing on a gradual increase in the quality of items we accept.

Chorley Auction House;

The best selling lot we had in February was a Mid Century Teak McIntosh Dunvegan Sideboard, which got a hammer price of £520. We do get some lovely items of furniture through auction, it's a shame that not all of them get this price though. Furniture can be difficult to sell, whether that's due to the size, colour or style. There's lots of factors that effect the success of an item, this sideboard must have ticked all the boxes though. Onto the changes in pricing, we have decided during the auction to sell items for a minimum of £6. This is to ensure that when items sell at auction the customer gets some money back. This is introduced in line with an increase in prices both on the buyer and vendors end, to get more information on this get in contact with Nicola, she knows all. Another piece of news is that we have recently released a customer survey to better understand our customer base, so if you're reading this you may be interested and information can be found on our Facebook page.

Taylor and Sconce;

The Taylor and Sconce auction is still upcoming, with the date set for the 19th of April. If you're interested in selling items at this high value antiques auction, or registering to bid get into contact with our office. More information will be released at a later date but if you want a sneak peak at some of the items check out our post relating to it on Facebook.

Imperial Auction Services;

Imperial has been back to normality, with specialist coin auctions every week. And we've been getting good prices for the most part at these auctions too. A lot of time goes into these auctions to satisfy a very specialist market, but Autumn still manages to do it.

Packit&Go;

Packit&Go has a new employee - Darren. Make sure you all give him a warm welcome, and tell him you're happy to see him. With the increase in demand for our house clearances the new pair of hands is very much needed. On top of this we have a new Packit&Go website, make sure you check the site out, and engage with the content we put on there. Plenty of case studies to be added, as well as a potential podcast. Our beautiful quote from Mark this month "The Spring season and staff at Chorley Auction House have so much in common; new energy, new zest budding, blooming, and growing even...". Mark is a true wordsmith, some have even called him the Bolton John Keats. Look forward to many more words of wisdom from Mark.
