Monthly Review - June 2024

June 2024;

Items that usually sell well continue to sell well in June, these include Gold, Silver, watches, coins, retro furniture. In June the highest selling lot was a British locomotives sterling silver ingot set, with a hammer price of £840. Train and railwayana is still popular at auction which we found our later in the month with photographs of trains and railways getting good prices, and also whenever we get Hornby items in the auction it's always popular. Moving on from trains and onto trainees (I'm gonna be laughing about that one for a while), and Amy has been slowly finding her feet in what is a very chaotic working environment. Dedicating most of her time booking in items, you can find her lending her hand to most aspects of the business and always happy to greet customers with her usual smile and good sense of humour. The goal in the long term is to continue to raise the average hammer price by acquiring higher quality items and generally applying kaisen throughout the business to improve and provide a better service. So overall much of the usual but as always things to learn and improve for future months.

Imperial Auction Services;

Imperial has been consistent with it's weekly auctions, but has also been slightly mixing up the formula. With watches and jewellery finding their way into the auction along with the usual mix of quality coins and banknotes. Autumn doing her best to keep bidders on their toes, and also provide the usual quality photos and descriptions. Hopefully the focus on our house clearance service will trickle down and benefit the Imperial auctions as well as Chorley.

Taylor and Sconce;

The Taylor and Sconce antiques auction catalogue is still scheduled to go live on the 19/07/2024, and some items have already been added. So I'll share a few sneak peaks as long as you don't tell Mark I did so - A WWII 'Dirty Dozen' Lemania mechanical watch, an Omega 925. Silver pocket watch, original artworks, and more. Plenty to get excited for, and plenty more to come, make sure you check out our socials for more updates.

Packit&Go;

Harry and Darren (or the Wombles as they call themselves) are always busy busy, going from one house clearance to the next. In fact we barely see them, which is a good thing if you ask some people. But still always at hand when we need them, and still give their prompt and professional house clearance service. The work horses of the operation, or the work wombles, even Amy became an honorary womble for the day. The foxhole unit now actually resembles a functional workplace, which is big improvements, and all down to the work of Harry and Darren. And now what I know you've all been waiting for, wise words of the true boss packing Mark;

July is upon us all at Chorley Auction House - Already the nights are 'Drawing In'!!

At the time of writing Christmas is 167 days away. The weather is not very summer-like, but on a positive note the rain keeps the wasps away.

On that note we are working like busy bees, seeing to your every need with expertise.

Chorley Auction House is our hive, customer satisfaction is what we strive.

We cannot turn nectar into honey, but we aim to turn your lots into money.

We will look after you with whatever you bring, come and see us we won't bite or sting.

I couldn't have said it any better myself, words from the man himself, brings a tear to my eyes.
